Synopsis: A Queer, Black student finds himself in deep need of a haircut, but to fit into a typical bro-culture barbershop, toning down to blend in may be a bit more challenging than expected.

Black comedy with a social purpose. In a genre of LGBTQ+ experience that often focuses on trauma and tragedy, this film aims to break through and shine a light on the ironic, awkward, and diversely unifying silver linings of intersectionality.
As my first experience serving solely as editor from script to screen, this film proved to me the immense value of having an editor present for all stages of the filmmaking process.
Coming on to this project, the writer of the film, Ben Locke, had lofty ideas of how to execute and stylize the protagonist's unique experiences and dream sequences. However, given Ben's limited experience as he stepped into directing, he demanded more input and collaboration from me and our cinematographer, Tristan Womach, to help his imagination take form.
This creative space to develop and marry the visual and editing languages of the film cultivated a strong and stylized intent behind every movement, shot, and cut in the film. Whether it's sitting in the misunderstood experiences of our quiet protagonist, or witnessing the cultural commentary of the barbershop at an arm's length, we wanted our audience to walk through the movie as our main character does.
