A dark comedy that ironically sprouted an incredible partnership with my long-time collaborator, Yelisey Kazakevich, this twisted movie served as the first steps to the indomitable spirit and dare-to-dream ambition that we've cultivated in our filmmaking.
Checklist seemed determined to check off every possible production challenge. Yelisey and I saw in each other a shared drive to dream big—meaning big risks, big obstacles, and an even bigger need for problem-solving.
From corrupted files to logistical curveballs to constant skepticism from peers and professors, we pushed forward. We adapted to constraints, engineered creative stunt solutions, built a team of relentless collaborators—many of whom we still work with today—and emerged with a film that earned a spot in our end-of-year showcase.
More than anything, this project taught us how to turn obstacles into opportunities and doubt into determination—a lesson that continues to shape the way we take on ambitious ideas.
